We’re in Hilo on Thursday, Sept. 25 (2-4PM) and Kona on Friday, Sept. 26 (12-2PM). Join our very own J.E. Orozco, who has decades of experience as a radio DJ and sports commentator, as he helps participants gain the skills and confidence to take the mic, deliver exciting play-by-play and color commentary, and engage audiences while showcasing local athletic talent.

Learn the fundamentals of sports hosting and commentary, including on-air etiquette and best practices.
Gain an understanding of play-by-play vs. color commentary and how both roles work together to create a dynamic broadcast.
Develop pre-game preparation techniques, including researching teams, athletes, and stats to craft compelling narratives.
Learn production basics, including how to work seamlessly with camera crews and technical staff.
This interactive two-hour workshop will combine instruction, demonstration, and hands-on practice. Participants will be placed in small groups to practice real-life game scenarios with mock broadcasts and roleplay as both host and color commentator.
