The NLTV Youth Media Camp is a hands-on, creative experience designed for Hawai‘i Island middle and high school students who want to explore filmmaking, digital art, podcasting, and social media content creation.
Whether you're a beginner or already experimenting with video, this camp will help you build your skills, meet new friends, and find your creative voice.

🎥 Learn to Film on iPads and professional cameras using pro tips in lighting, framing, and shot composition
✏️ Develop Your Story from idea to storyboard to final edit
🎨 Create Digital Art and social media visuals
🎧 Record a Podcast and reflect on your creative journey
🎉 Share Your Work at a family-friendly ‘Ohana Showcase on Friday, from 2-4PM
Each camper will create a short film, digital art piece, social media post, and a podcast segment — all in just 5 days!
📍 Camp Details
Hilo Session: July 7–11
Kona Session: July 14–18
Time: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM daily
Showcase: Friday, 2:00 – 4:00 PM
💵 Cost
$95 for the full week, which includes:
Daily lunch
Use of iPads and editing equipment
Journals and creative supplies
Instruction from media professionals

⚠️ Families will be responsible for any lost or damaged equipment.
Scholarships available for ‘ohana experiencing financial hardship.

This camp is open to Hawai‘i Island middle and high school students with a curiosity for media and a willingness to collaborate. No prior experience is necessary — just come ready to learn and create!
Important: Students must attend all five days and be available for the Friday afternoon showcase.
